A graduate from the Rotterdam Dansacademie, Ann Van den Broek danced with companies such as Elisa Monte (New York), Dansgroep Krisztina de Châtel (Amsterdam), Galili Dance (Groningen) and Charleroi danse (Charleroi). In 2000, she decided to dedicate herself entirely to growing as a choreographer. She developed her own body language: emotional minimalism. Her work is often described as raw, dynamic, radical, brutally honest, extremely detailed and mastered. With her company WArd/waRD, Ann Van den Broek builds her uniquely characteristic body of work, with which she has marked the dance scenes in Belgium and the Netherlands. Co(te)lette (2008) and The Black Piece (2014) both won the Swan Award for Most Impressive Dance Production. Her latest creation, Accusations (2017), was also named Most Impression Dance Production in the Netherlands.

During the workshop, participants will delve into Ann Van den Broek’s typical movement language.
