CALL FOR APPLICATIONS – NEW PROGRAMS
2021-2022 AND 2022-2023 SEASONS

With a special grant from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, Circuit-Est centre chorégraphique is pleased to announce new programs to support dance artists for the current and next season.

For the current season, we will be able to offer :

  •  Four Labo libre
  • Three Première résidence
  • One Première résidence technique
  • Two afternoons Bancs d’essai

All these programs are exclusively aimed at independent artists (not supported for the operation or specific programming).

LABO LIBRE

Labo libre aims to be a field of exploration that allows one to dedicate oneself exclusively to fundamental research in choreography, interpretation or teaching.

Circuit-Est offers:

  • Twenty-five studio hours (two consecutive weeks): 9:30 am to 12 pm in Studio B, between January 17 and June 24, 2022;
  • Financial compensation of $500 /artist for a maximum of $2,000.

PREMIÈRE RÉSIDENCE

Première résidence is dedicated to choreographers who graduated from schools for less than three years or to artists who, without having attended a school, have been in the professional environment for less than three years.

Circuit-Est offers:

  • Thirty hours of studio;
  • Financial compensation of $600 /artist for a maximum of $2,400;
  • An artistic accompaniment of fifteen hours.

PREMIÈRE RÉSIDENCE TECHNIQUE

Première résidence technique is dedicated to any choreographer who never had access to a technical residency at Circuit-Est.

Circuit-Est offers:

  • Five studio days for two consecutive weeks, from June 20 to July 1, 2022;
  • Financial compensation of $1,200 /artist for a maximum of $4,800;
  • A maximum of thirty hours of technician time.

Bancs d’essai  will allow some choreographers to share the results of their choreographic research.

HOW TO APPLY?

We would like to thank all the artists who submitted an application for the 2021-2022 season. Selected projects will be announced by December 22, 2021.

Circuit-Est centre chorégraphique invites all artists to submit and encourages applications from Indigenous artists, known as diversity and recently immigrated artists.
