POTSDAM | MONTRÉAL 2017

MIRJAM SÖGNER [aut/deu]
SANDRA BLATTERER [aut/deu]

Circuit-Est welcomed Mirjam Sögner and Sandra Blatterer in residency in the fall of 2017 to work on their project FOAM. In return, Quebec artist Amélie Rajotte spent two months working at fabrik Potsdam – Internationales Zentrum für Tanz und Bewegungskunst, accompanied by Nelly-Ève Rajotte.

In FOAM, the two artists use foam as a performative agent which they animate, use as a landscape and transform with light and visual projections. They question the way the body can be part of this slowly vanishing light sculpture, which exists with its own qualities of movement.

A public presentation was offered on October 26, 2017, in the studio Peter-Boneham.

These choreographic residencies are made in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut Montréal, fabrik Potsdam – Internationales Zentrum für Tanz und Bewegungskunst and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.
