The artists

Lauranne Faubert-Guay
Solo
Thinking of childbirth as a gigantic and generous effort; like a challenge that transforms pain into strength and roars; as a celebration of the autonomous body which rearranges and transcends itself to give life, to give itself life; like an unimaginable journey that allows one to get out of oneself. This project dives into a fluid zone where bodily boundaries expand until they no longer belong to each other. It is an ode to birth, dance, and creation; the opportunity to celebrate an infinite body and highlight its immensity.
Lauranne Faubert-Guay is a transdisciplinary artist with a background in visual arts, sociology and contemporary dance. Sensitive to the urgency of changing our way of being-in-the-world, notably by adopting a minimalist lifestyle, she is specifically interested in the ascetic body and its ability for self-sufficiency. By challenging the body, she explores the links between hardship and emancipation. Since 2019, her creations are presented in Montréal and in Outaouais. Lauranne is also the founder of Devenir(s) corps, a residency program and live arts studio located in Outaouais.

Philippe Dépelteau
Duo (performed by Camil Bellefleur et Luce Lainé)
Between perpetual construction and breakdown, bricks and bodies build ephemeral landscapes together. Their encounter draws fragments of houses and bodies to inhabit. Like a living mortar, the movement is lodged in the interstices of the installation. It proposes an evanescent dance, where bodies appear and disappear into the material. From construction to resonance, bricks and bodies attempt to establish a sensuous dialogue. As a place of reflection and sensation, « S’imbriquer » activates questions about how we build and inhabit an endangered world.
Based in Montréal, Philippe Dépelteau is a creator, performer and collaborator in performing arts, working at the intersection of ecology and living arts. Since graduating from the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal in 2020, he has collaborated as a performer with the collective Other Animals, Lucy Fandel, Charlie Prince, Aurélie Pédron, PPS Danse and Sarah Dell'Ava. In 2022, Philippe cofounded the collective les petits papiers alongside Marie Lévêque and Luce Lainé.
