May 7 – 11, 2018 | 10 am – 12 pm
The class will focus on the connection between creativity and imagination in the dancer’s work. It is based upon many concepts and exercises from Eldad’s training, career and philosophy as well as on his experience with Ohad Naharin’s method. The dancers will work with analytical thought and physical feelings in different situations, as experienced by the body. The aim is to enrich and improve their intuitive experiences, using their bodies’ memory in creating a movement that leaves “new” traces of memories in space, and practicing how to identify them and how to relate to them.
Eldad Ben-Sasson studied at the Bat Dor School of Dance, in Israel. He danced for Vertigo Dance Company, directed by Noa Wertheim and Adi Sha’al, and for Batsheva Dance Company, directed by Ohad Naharin. He collaborated with many choreographers such as Mats Ek, Paul Norton, Yoshifumi Inao, Orjan Andersson, amongst others, in addition to working on his own creations, which have received awards and good reviews. He is often invited to give workshops in different schools, academies and companies in Israel and abroad, in particular at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance and at Tanzquartier Wien, in Austria.
