FORD LAROSE MCKEOWN
Accompanied by Saskya Etienne-Pierre
Ford is a Montreal choreographer of Haitian descent specializing in street dance. He is recognized for his unique approach to Boogaloo/Popping. Through his choreographic adventure, he aims to set in motion the multiple universes that animate his imagination. Straight from space, this ancestral futuristic choreographic creation is intended as a journey into the parallel universes of the funkosphere. Maestria draws its essence from the cultures of Boogaloo and Strutting, heritages of the Afro-American and Afro-descendant communities of the 1960s and 1970s. A tribute to the imagination and the resilience of these communities in the face of a world wanting its loss.
