April 23 – 27, 2018 | 10 am – 12 pm
The technical part of this class will explore physical mechanisms that allow us to reach physical extremes while protecting the body at the same time. Emphasis will be placed on the skeleton structure and muscular chains helping the dancers to find fluidity and freedom in their own movements, and to learn to recycle and save their energy. Metaphors and images will be used to produce or enhance new kinesthetic experiences as well as awareness. The class seeks to combine the specific, physical language of dance with the human emotions and drama that motivates theatre. They will rediscover, explore and use different exercises, framed improvisations, work-in function-of-an-idea, and will be working in pairs, individually or in groups.
