Nadine Gerspacher is a dancer, choreographer, teacher and artistic director of her eponymous company. She has been working internationally for over 20 years, choreographing all over the world. In particular, she worked for several years with the Dave St-Pierre inc. company, which shaped her choreographic work. In 2015, she worked as a choreographer for Cirque du Soleil. A year later, she received the Isadora Prize from the Iwanson-sixt Foundation in Munich for outstanding achievements in contemporary dance.
In her trilogy, completed in 2021, she describes and questions various facets of the pre-Corona era. In 2022, she presented her piece RE. at Fribourg's E-werk theater: a duet created with Arias Fernandez, combining Krump and contemporary dance.
At the same time, she co-directs the two programs Free bodies & Free roots, which accompany young dancers for over eight months in their professional development. She also opened Free zone, a center for movement, creation and performance in Barcelona with Nicolas Ricchini in 2022, while co-founding the Nexo festival in Freiburg with Tina Halford. In 2023, the company will present its new creation "Das innere Beben" at Freiburg's E-werk.
Catching Limits
Nadine explores contemporary dance with movements and situations that connect people in a playful way. She creates a warm atmosphere and inspires people to work smart and push their limits.
The class consists of exercises to awaken the whole body. Particular attention is paid to breathing, joint mobility, muscle tone and stability to improve physical strength.
Dancers will learn to activate and anchor their center so as to experience optimal freedom of movement. Partner work, guided improvisations and theatricality will support the playful spirit of the class and creativity in movement and expression. They will explore raw, powerful movement, with particular attention to detail, especially in hand movement, as well as playing with different textures, from lightness to density.
