QUAN BUI NGOC | MASTER CLASSES

February 12 – 16, 2018  |  10 am – 12 pm

FULL – 5 spots per day for drop-ins

Quan Bui Ngoc’s class is based on the knowledge he acquired from his experience in Les Ballets C de la B. It will start with a warm up using floor work, acrobatic exercises and technical phrases. It will then focus on high physical precision, speed and different quality layers, while giving space for improvisations in which the dancers will have the freedom to explore their possibilities inspired by their own creativity.

Quan Bui Ngoc studied dance at the National School in Vietnam. In 1996, he joined the Hanoi Opera House, and in 2002, he started working with Alain Platel on Wolf, followed by vsprs (2006), pitié ! (2008) and C(H)ŒURS (2012). Today, he still works with the company as an artistic assistant. He danced in Bolero (2009) by Lisi Estaras and co-created I know a place (2009). He also created Jump of Fall (2009) along with Juliana Neves and Samuel Lefeuvre. In 2011, he joined the Australian Dance Theatre to tour with Be Your Self, and the year after, he started collaborating with the Swiss company 3art3 as a director and a choreographer for the projects K and Untold. In 2012, he created his first piece, Magnetic, upon the invitation of the Arts festival Autumn Melodies. Quan often offers workshops in Europe and abroad for dancers and dance companies.
