Marilyn Douast (QC)
Marilyn Daoust is a performer and creator in dance, theater and everything in between. A graduate of UQAM in dance interpretation, Marilyn Daoust has twice been awarded to perfect her skills in Catalonia and Austria, in addition to training in Chile and Belgium. As a performer, both as a dancer and an actress, depending on the project, she is part of the worlds of Manon Oligny, Louise Bédard, Marie Béland, Angela Konrad, Jessica Poirier-Chang, Julie Artacho, Liliane Moussa, Jean-François Guilbault, Théâtre I.N.K., Julien Blais, Daina Ashbee, Lucie Grégoire and Cirque du Soleil. In 2022, she had the privilege of learning and performing Louise Bédard's landmark solo "La femme ovale", originally presented in 2003.
With creator and performer Gabriel Léger-Savard, she created Le temps des fruits first presented as a webcast at Tangente (2021), then on tour in Abitibi (2022). This interdisciplinary creation, which thrills her more than ever, earned them the Prix Culture de LOJIQ in 2019, and the Sélection Nationale de RIDEAU (in 2022 and 2023). She then co-directed and choreographed "L du Déluge", a text by Gabriel Léger-Savard featuring 12 performers on stage and 20 collaborators. This piece was presented at La Chapelle Scènes Contemporaines in November and December 2022 for 7 performances.
At the same time, Marilyn has taken on numerous choreographic commissions in theatres.
