LE PETIT CONTINENTAL

Join us for the Petit Continental, a lively and resolutely contemporary line dance. Over the course of eight rehearsals, 50 Longueuil residents mastered the steps of a condensed version of Sylvain Émard's celebrated Grand Continental. For the Journées de la culture, the choreographer called on the dancers to work together to create a unique section of the show in their own image. After each performance, the space is transformed into an open-air dance floor for free continental dancing.

About Le Grand Continental

In 2009 the renowned choreographer Sylvain Émard presented Le Grand Continental at Festival TransAmériques. Since then, this very contemporary form of square dancing has not only been bringing together amateur dancers of all ages and diverse cultural origins and backgrounds, but also charming audiences the world over.
