BODY LANGUAGES: Movement, Time and Space
The class BODY LANGUAGES: Movement, Time and Space will encourage the dancers to explore the choreographer’s artistic world and question the choreographic writing. It will give them the opportunity to broaden their knowledge of the discipline by developing tools related to breathing and how to sustain and generate energy for themselves and the group. The goal is to push one’s physical limits in a creative research by exploring different states of the body inspired by the self, images and music.
Taoufiq Izeddiou is a choreographer, teacher and the Artistic Director of Cie Anania and of the contemporary dance festival On Marche. Born in Marrakech, he pursued studies in architecture and became involved in sport and theatre before turning to dance. He discovered a passion for contemporary dance through workshops with Mathilde Monnier, Georges Appaix and Bernardo Montet. His meeting with Bernardo Montet was decisive; in the subsequent years, they reflected together about origin and identity.
