February 18 – 22, 2019 | 10 am – 12 pm

Victoria P. Miranda teaches a highly physical class, which includes sequences that require a sense of power, musicality and energy. By exploring different ways of merging into and out of the floor, and by using speed and acrobatic sequences, the dancers will delve into different dynamics and qualities of movement, and will learn how to accumulate more energy. The class will focus on working out the stamina as well as the individual strong presence. It will help the participants to find new skills to perhaps feel a new way of moving.

Born in Spain, Victoria P. Miranda received a grant at 16 years old, which allowed her to study for three years at the Merce Cunningham Studio. She continued her studies at the Centre national de danse contemporaine in Angers. As a performer, and then as a choreographic assistant, she collaborated with the company Provisional Danza/Carmen Werner in Madrid. She was invited to choreograph pieces for several companies in Costa Rica and Mexico. Her work was presented in Europe, America, Asia and North Africa. She also teaches in many schools and institutions around the world, such as SEAD – Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance and The Place.
