The Stand Up Solo Performance practice focuses on the way in which autobiography and stories of a person’s life can become significant sources of material for the stage. It ispires itself from principles of stand-up comedy. Participants have the opportunity to embody personal stories in a short series of solos, in a safe group environment.

LIA HARAKI is an interdisciplinary artist, practitioner and mentor whose work spans performance, devised theatre, choreography, song, and what she terms “repetitive poetry”. Her solo ‘Tune In’ was presented at Venice Biennale. LIA’s practices are taught internationally (Impuls Tanz Vienna, Sasha Waltz company etc). She was a lecturer at University of Nicosia (2007-2023) and initiator of Dance House Lemesos (2005).

GUY COOLS is a dramaturg dor dance. He has worked with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Danièle Desnoyers, Akram Khan, and Arno Schuitemaker amongst others. As of December 1st 2022, he is a professor at the UQAM dance department. His recent publishings include Performing Mourning. Laments in Contemporary Art (2021).
