Rooted in what he defines as the intelligence of the body, SYLVAIN ÉMARD places the performer at the centre of his creative process. His approach aims for optimal mobilisation of the body, while encouraging risk-taking, exploration and the discovery of new paths, on a physical and on mental plane. Beyond learning, it is a true invitation to creation, rooted in sharing SYLVAIN’s artistic and creative process.

Undeniable choreographer of the contemporary dance scene in Canada, SYLVAIN ÉMARD has an international reputation. His repertoire includes over thirty works that strike with their physicality and sensuality. Sensitive to the melding of genres, he frequently works as a guest choreographer for other disciplines : opera (1984 with Robert Lepage), thetare, cinema and musical theatre (Demain matin, Montréal m’attend at TNM).
