The artists Elise Legrand (QC) and Martina Gambardella (IT) with artistic accompanists Chiara Frigo (ITA) et Sophie Michaud (QC) will be in residence at the Centro per la Scena Contemporanea and then at Circuit-Est centre chorégraphique.

Elise LEGRAND
(QC)

A dancer, choreographer, and artistic director based in Sherbrooke/Kchi Nikitawtegwak, Elise Legrand develops site-specific and multidisciplinary projects that integrate dance with visual arts, music, video, and circus arts. Since 2010, she has created about fifteen choreographic works presented in Québec, across Canada, and internationally, in festivals, museums, galleries, and public spaces. In 2022, she founded her company, Elise Legrand Créations, to further her choreographic research while supporting public accessibility to the arts.

Martina Gambardella
(IT)

Martina Gambardella trained in contemporary dance in Milan and Leeds, before pursuing her artistic research in Berlin and London. Since 2012, she has been developing her choreographic practice while collaborating as a performer. In 2017, she co-founded the Cavadoras collective in Berlin and has been an associate artist with CodedUomo Choreography and Research.

Her solo Error#1, presented in residence at Oriente Occidente Studio in 2021, explores the relationship between body and landscape, the emergence of movement, and the influence of the outside world on the body. The work questions permeability—the ability to be affected and transformed—placing the body in a constant state of listening and receptivity.
